Finally, Walls

Wall construction began on August 31, 2013. One of the hottest days of the year.

Finally being focused on mixing and applying cob to the walls sure feels good, like a major milestone has been achieved.

The walls are trimmed up below. You can see the initial work on an L-shaped cob bench where the large stones are in the northwest corner of the building.

  1. Craig,

Thank you for creating a blog and posting so many photos! What beautiful surroundings you will be in - it's hard to be a Texas sunset, isn't it?

I'm looking forward to learning about cob houses through your build! I hope to come out and help you at some point. Maybe I'll just tow my tiny house there behind me and set up a little construction camp. : )

I'd like to hear more about the size and interior features as they develop.

    Exciting!

  2. Sigh. Hard to "beat" a Texas sunset...

  3. Having a *tiny* build-a-thon later in the year is a real possibility. Proximity might be a setback but some thought can be given to see what we can come up with.
