Wall construction began on August 31, 2013. One of the hottest days of the year.
Finally being focused on mixing and applying cob to the walls sure feels good, like a major milestone has been achieved.
The walls are trimmed up below. You can see the initial work on an L-shaped cob bench where the large stones are in the northwest corner of the building.
Craig,
ReplyDeleteThank you for creating a blog and posting so many photos! What beautiful surroundings you will be in - it's hard to be a Texas sunset, isn't it?
I'm looking forward to learning about cob houses through your build! I hope to come out and help you at some point. Maybe I'll just tow my tiny house there behind me and set up a little construction camp. : )
I'd like to hear more about the size and interior features as they develop.
Exciting!

Sigh. Hard to "beat" a Texas sunset...
ReplyDeleteHaving a *tiny* build-a-thon later in the year is a real possibility. Proximity might be a setback but some thought can be given to see what we can come up with.
